Manhole & Well Tile

     Manhole Tiles manufactured by Winona Concrete are circular in shape and range from 1 ft. to 5 ft. in height and are 42" in inside diameter.  Each section has a ship-lap type nesting joint.  Sections are normally stacked one upon another to a desired total height.  Grade Rings are available for making height adjustments to suite grade requirements.  Mastic sealant or concrete parging is used as necessary to make joints watertight between sections.

    These 42" I.D. tiles may be used in a variety of underground piping applications.  Such uses include water meter chambers, sewer & storm pipe junctions, sewer inspection, storm water collection (similar to catch basins), valve chambers and shore wells.

    Each tile section has pairs of 1" diameter Cast-In Pockets.  These are positioned to accept installation of standard 16" o/c hammer-in ladder rungs.  When installed, these steps enable access into the tile.

    Stock tile sections are made as blanks (no holes or knockouts).  Rubber Boots with stainless steel clamps, sized for pipes from 2" to 12" are available either cast in place or cored at specified locations.   These provide flexible watertight through-wall pipe connections.

    The flat surfaced Manhole Top is 12" high with a 24" diameter access opening.  Standard OPSD cast iron frames & grates can be supplied if the tile will be in a vehicular traffic area.  When used as a shore well, a lighter 8" top is available with a 24" diameter Polylok Riser & Lid.  Both types of tops have access openings offset for positioning over the ladder rungs.

    Lifting Inserts are cast into each tile section.  Grab hooks may be used for attaching to the inserts, making for safe and convenient handling.

    All of Winona's manhole tiles are made with high density concrete utilizing low water to cement mix designs.
